Royal Albert teacups
The latest issue of TeaTime magazine highlights ten commemorative teaware designs put out by Royal Albert in honor of their 100th anniversary. Each of the ten designs comes from a different decade of the 20th century. I was immediately drawn to the 1930s design, Polka Rose:
It speaks to my girlish heart with its soft, muted colors, pretty polka dots, and pink roses. However, if I had to choose one for use in my home, I think I'd go with the elegant and classic Edwardian set, Regency Blue:
Which of the ten decades do you favor?

Oh my!! Those tea sets are just stunningly adorable! I want them all! :) I had a really hard time trying to choose my favourite among them, but the sets from 1900 to 1940 attracted me the most. And I think I would have to go with you on the Polka Rose, if I really would have to choose just one. :)
You mentioned a magazine called Tea Times, that sounds very interesting to me, what kind of magazine is it?
My favorites are Polka Rose and Festival. I love them both!! I think the former would look nice in my house. :)
Lovely!
I like Polka Rose the best...but Festival is mighty pretty, too! ☺

Aww, those teacups are lovely, the shape is so elegant. I think if I had to choose, my favourites would be Festival, Polka Rose, and the the 1960s one, whose name I have forgotten! But they are all lovely. I think tea would taste nicer from cups like those!
Oh, I just love the 1930's Polka Rose! How utterly delightful! I also like the 1960's Golden Roses (somehow it just doesn't fit with my generic "hippie" impression of the 60's -- it's so elegant!). But I think that I'll have to go for the 1900's Regency Blue -- not overly feminine, but incredibly elegant. And with a name like "Regency," how could any Jane Austen fan resist? ;)
I've tagged you for a book meme over on my blog!

Aurora, I added a link to the TeaTime website in my post -- it's a magazine all about tea which features various tea recipes (scones, tiny sandwiches, cakes, etc.) and highlights tea rooms and tea events around the U.S. (particularly in the South). There are articles on tea etiquette and other tea news -- very enjoyable if you enjoy getting inspiration for tea parties!
Lovely choices, everyone! (Of course you can't go wrong because they're all so pretty.) :-)
I have a hard time choosing between Duchess and Holyrood. So I'll just get both! Thank you for posting those.
I've also tagged you for a book meme on my blog.

My most definite favorite is the Polka Rose. It would be perfect in my house of dreams. :-)
Polka Rose!!! I love it! (What a fun question!)
1940 English Chintz.
My own china pattern ( celebrating 20 years of wedding bliss this fall)is Noritake's Sweet Leilani. It's white with pale gray and lavender flowers and silver edging. Some people don't choose china, arguing that it's not practical, but I received 12 place settings and have loved it ever since.
Polka Rose is, by far, my favorite! It has such a soft, feminine look, doesn't it?
His,
Mrs. U
