33 week update
This is a small bit of decorating I've done in the baby's room. The shelf came from Hobby Lobby -- I painted it off-white and light blue, then added the Kate Greenaway illustrations from some notecards I found at a garage sale.
I'm at 33 weeks today and I'm very grateful to the Lord for a healthy and easy pregnancy so far. As my due date gets closer I'm anticipating labor and looking forward to meeting our baby (and finally knowing if it's a boy or girl). The plan is to give birth at a nearby birthing center with the assistance of my husband and my midwife. They do have a water tub there so I plan on laboring in water and perhaps birthing in the water, if I feel like it at the time.
I'm praying that the baby will be early or on time, as we're hoping to travel for Christmas. :-)

How beautiful!!! praying for you and your husband & baby!!! By the way - "The Runaway Bunny" is my absolute favorite children's book :)
I love the decorations in your baby room! They're all so cute! Praise God you haven't gotten sick your whole pregnancy!
Thanks Luci! That is a great book, isn't it! Our copy (and the "Goodnight Moon" behind it) was a gift from my cousin and his wife.
Thanks Louisa! The credit for my health definitely goes to God! Douglas has a cold this weekend and so far I haven't caught it, and we're praying it will stay that way. :-) I'm glad you were able to come and see the baby's room for yourself, and not just have to rely on photos.
Praying your little will come on time! How exciting, I bet you can't wait to meet him or her by now.
Good luck with your lovely labor & delivery plan! This tidbit of room looks beautiful. Lucky baby, with all those good things to look at and read!
How sweet! I bet your nursery is delightful. I hope the remaining 7 weeks go well. I'm so excited for you!
Oh my, 33 weeks!! Only a few left to go. :) I will be praying your baby arrives on schedule and that you will have a smooth labor. What a wonderful Christmas gift he/she will be!
The decorations looks so nice. I can't wait to see what you will do with the rest of the baby's room. Everything is done so tastefully with such a delightful vintagey feeling.
I'm so glad that you have a midwife and birthing center! I'm praying for a quick and easy delivery (believe me, it's possible!), and that baby will come right on time. Both my babies have been late, and that's hard. I am so excited for you and Douglas! You're going to be wonderful, Godly parents!
God bless you!
Thank you so much for your prayers and words of encouragement -- they are greatly appreciated!
You're also inspiring me to get the rest of the baby's room organized, so I can share some more photos. :-)
I had a water-birth a little more than a year ago at Colorado's only birth center. It was an incredible experience! I definitely felt more bonded with the baby and even my husband because I chose natural birth.
Michelle, that's great to hear. I've spoken with several other ladies who've gone the water-birth route and they all loved it, too.
I'm so excited for you and Douglas! Wow, it's hard to believe how quickly the time has passed -- I'm sure it's seemed even faster to you! I'll be praying for you and your little one in these last few weeks.
Blessings,
Shannon
