Signs of fall

Potted mums... mine are on the left, Douglas' on the right. Also note that they are dripping wet with October rain.

Apple-blackberry pie with REAL whipped cream, sprinkled with nutmeg. Luscious.

Out come my woolly yarns and halted projects are begun once again.

And of course the leaves are turning all kinds of vibrant, warm colors.

My handsome Irish husband digs out his flatcap and sweaters! I love it when he wears stuff like this. ;-)

Ha! My husband is also Irish (and handsome ;) ) and I have tried to convince him to wear a hat like that! He wants to actually, but he thinks he'll look old. Maybe I'll show him a picture of another handsome young Irishman!

Lovely! The mums, the pie, the yarn, all wonderful! Douglas looks quite dapper! And, as yet another woman with an Irish husband, I'm going to echo Keri and say I wish my husband would wear a hat like that!

Your photographs are excellent! Nice job. And I love the hat--my Dad wears one just like it, and I love the way he dresses (quite a bit like Douglas in this photograph.)

Lovely photos! Funny, I always think your husband has a Scottish look to him - must be the celtic link!

LOL, I didn't know we had so many Irish husbands around. ;-) I wish you success with getting your husbands to wear flatcaps! I think they look very stylish and not at all "old," just a little old-fashioned -- which isn't too different from the way we ladies dress sometimes, right?!

I love your blog! I have to say that I too love the type of clothes your husband is wearing. SO my style. My husband and son dress this way.

My husband Eric wears this style well and so does my son Alec. Both have flatcaps(newsboy style)and the compliments are numerous.

1 started
putting one on Alec when he was three and got all kinds of comments. Since I had a boy I was determined to get him a flatcap. So different from what is the norm.
It's the hat he wears.

I think this look needs to be around more. It's dapper, classy
and looks very good on guys. The look makes my heart melt and I love that old fashioned look.

Blessings,

Lovely photographs, Laura! I don't know what I love most about Fall -- the actual season, or the gorgeous photographs and descriptions that people post! ;-)

Blessings,
Shannon
