The one that got away
I sometimes see a gorgeous pattern on eBay that I love, but I refrain from buying it because I know I'd lack the time to make it or the opportunity to wear it. This was one such pattern. I'm now feeling rather remorseful over the fact -- especially since it's in my size. Please, if any of you sewing mavens see another one of these floating around on the Internet, let me know about it!

I'll keep my eye out for it. I have to tell you, after seeing your Grecian dress (made from your mom's bridesmaids dress pattern) in your sewing gallery, I did a search for the pattern, and found it as a Buy It Now on eBay immediately. I paid something like $3 for it, with shipping! And, I LOVE it! I made it up in black satin for a wedding, and just put a zipper in the side. I can't wait to make it again. Sorry I went so long--I just wanted to tell you: Thank you for the inspiration!
Oh, that's so cool, Serena! That's one of my favorite summer dresses. I'd love to see a picture of your version. Black satin sounds a lot classier than cotton gauze. ;)
Well, everyone assured me that it looked nice, even though I had an awful feeling that it looked like I'd slapped a couple of black trash bags together! I want to make it in gauze, actually. I love the way yours looks, and I love the Grecian look.
I'll try to get around to posting a photo in the next couple of weeks. (That's quick, with all I've been doing!)
Ah, well, we're our own worst critics, but if you really dislike the way it turned out, you can always chalk it up as a toile.
I wore mine yesterday and I think the gauze might have stretched a bit over the years, so if you do make it with gauze, I'd advocate staystitching wherever you can!
