Hot water bottle

Pictured above is my hot water bottle, and the little flannel sack I made to cover it up. Notice the birds match the rubber of the bottle! Very cozy.

Just lovely! I don't understand why hot water bottles are used so infrequently in the States. They are so much more delightful than electric heating pads -- especially when they have lovely covers, like yours!

perfect! I love how my English relatives say "hot water bottle." Lyrical. We should use them more here in the US, I agree 200%!

Yes, actually I was first introduced to using a hot water bottle by a friend when I stayed at her house in Scotland. I think giving a hot water bottle to a guest in wintertime is a really nice touch of hospitality -- and you might just get someone else in the habit of using one, too! :)

That flannel is beautiful! Where would one get a hot water bottle?

I got my Christmas cd in the mail today, and all of us LOVE it. Thanks again for that recommendation!

Lynn, I think you could find a hot water bottle at most drugstores. I'm so glad you and your family are enjoying the CD! It's had permanent residence in my car stereo over the past few days. ;)

Laura, I just had to tell you that my 11 year old loves the hammered dulcimer so much now because of that cd that he's been looking through his 'how to' books and forming ideas of how to build one for himself..... I'm not sure if he's thought about how he's going to teach himself to play it! :)

Lynn, that's so neat! I frequently get the same urge when I listen to that CD, though I don't have the initiative to actually BUILD a hammered dulcimer. :) I hope your son follows through with it -- how cool would that be?!
