Light glinting off the icy trees at dusk

A mild winter has left us with no real snow-storms yet, but only ice-storms. There are many tree branches down because the limbs can't bear the weight of all that ice. The grass underfoot crunches as you walk on it -- each individual blade has a coating of ice. The bad weather will ensure a quiet New Year's Eve for many here in town, but we have a cozy fire inside, and plenty of books to read and games to play.
